I am very active in professional development. I have been working with my current staff and leading staff meetings/trainings with instruction on areas that are identified in our school. We have done in house trainings on the sensory system, teaching strategies, challenging behaviors and having difficult conversations with families. I have also provided trainings on Developmentally Appropriate Practice and how to effectively work with co-teachers.
I'm also facilitating Nurturing Families with PCAVT. This is ongoing and done via Zoom.
has received formal instruction in adult education or in the facilitation of learning for adults.

Work Experience

I currently work for Pitter Patter Childcare Center South (formerly Early Years Child Development Center) in Colchester. I have been actively lead teaching and directing this site since 2010. (EYCDC was purchased in 2024 by Pitter Patter South.) During my time I have been actively pursuing quality professional development and developed a passion for adult instruction. I was on the adult instructor registry prior but took a break to start my family.
I'm actively training in-house employees on Developmentally Appropriate practice, effective co-teaching strategies, sensory regulation and supporting challenging behaviors in the classroom among other topics.
I also am actively facilitating "Nurturing Families" as a volunteer for Prevent Child Abuse Vermont.
5-10 years instructing adults.

I believe in using a multi modal system for delivering instruction in a group. As everyone learns differently, delivery of information should be reflected as such.

I feel like integrating real life experiences into our learning is a way for people to create a deeper connection with the content.

Laughter and joy are critical elements for maintaining our spark for learning and for teaching. I believe in delivering content in a way that will spark joy and laughter that encourages a mindset of lifelong learning.
