August of 1989 to August of 2004 I was Executive Director of Otter Creek Child Center in Middlebury. This program served children infancy through to five years. I oversaw all administrative tasks, teacher development/supervision and worked with staff on developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculums. August of 2007 to August of 2015 served on the Children's Integrated Services Early Mental Health Team at the Addison County Parent Child Center. Worked with area families and childcare providers to address the early social-emotional needs of their children. I think it is critical to meet teachers where they are in both their own and professional development. Helping teachers to identify their strengths and areas they want to learn more about is important for their own participation and success. You can tie in the importance of basic child development and ethical early childhood education to their individual goals. |
