I have taken a leadership training through Jeanine Fitzgerald which provides you with tools and understanding around being a leader in this field. I have been a part of the T.E.A.C.H program as both a student and a mentor, where I mentored educators here in my program. I often coach/mentor with staff of my program to extend their learning and understanding of curriculum, relationships, environment, and skill of early childhood education.
has not received formal instruction in adult education or in the facilitation of learning for adults. |
Work Experience
I have been in the early childhood education field for 8 years now. I started out as an educator for infants and then continued to move up a development each year. I have taught infants, through pre-k. I then decided to stay in the pre-k age range for two years. During this time I was moved into a leadership position where I was responsible for coaching and mentoring with other educators. I enjoyed working with educators to increase their educator tool kit, and overall understanding of educator knowledge in this field. I now am a director here at Kid Logic Learning, in South Burlington, VT. My new responsibilities include weekly coaching with educators, hosting staff meetings around policies, practices, and new additions to curriculum, as well as, administrative duties that include family communication, enrollment, BFIS monitoring/updating, children's attendance, review and write up of new policy's and handbooks, and more. I have been in the director position for about a year now and I'm looking forward to being able to provide crucial trainings to my team to further our educator growth.
