Dr. Joanna Spotts completed her Educational Doctorate (Ed.D) in early childhood education in September 2022. Her dissertation focused on preschool teachers perceptions of risky play.

Work Experience

Dr. Joanna Spotts has been an educator for over twenty years. She has been a teacher of fourth and fifth grades in an inner city charter school and the teacher in a one room school house. She has also taught in a program for at-risk prekindergarten program. Dr. Joanna has been an Early Childhood Professional in Vermont since 2015. Currently, she is a lead preschool teacher at First Roots-Wild Roots in Hinesburg. Dr. Joanna has also spent considerable time as a full time substitute teacher in the infant room, one year old room and twos room at First Roots-Wild Roots and First Roots Underhill. Dr. Joanna also coaches preschool teachers on completing TSG and trains teachers in completing the ASQ-3 assessments at First Roots- Wild Roots.
