Work Experience

August 2023-Present: VTAEYC, Burlington, VT, SPARQS Lead Assessor. I am responsible for using the CLASS tools to assess early childhood classrooms, and provide feedback and mentoring to early educators to improve practice.
July 2022-July 2023: Loveworks Shelburne Road, South Burlington, VT, Executive Director. I was responsible for overseeing daily operations of an early childhood center serving children from birth to age 5. I hired, trained and mentored teachers. I oversaw the budget. I enrolled new children and families. I completed weekly billing.
August 2019-June 2022: Mary Johnson Children's Center, Middlebury, VT, STARS Assessor. I was responsible for assessing early childhood programs based on the ECERS/ITERS, and other rating scales. I worked with team members to hone my observation skills. I was responsible for training early educators using the ECERS and ITERS.
June 2018 to August 2019: Mary Johnson Children's Center, Middlebury, VT, Infant Room Lead Teacher. I was responsible for planning, implementing and documenting curriculum for children ages 6 weeks to 18 months. I worked with my co-teacher to observe and record learning through an assessment we created using the Vermont Early Learning Standards. I was also responsible for communicating with families through oral and written means.
August 2017 to June 2018: Christ the King School, Burlington, VT, Librarian. I introduced students in grades preschool through eight to our school library, and showed them different tools to be used when seeking information.

During this time I also completing the Peer Review Program and obtained Vermont State Teacher Licensure.
Summers 2006-2018, Crouton's Day Camp, Mary Johnson Children's Center, Ripton, VT, Co-Director and Camp Counselor. I was responsible for planning and implementing curriculum for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. With my co-director we trained and mentored staff, and oversaw the day to day operations of a program that served 30-40 children and families. I was also responsible for billing, food preparation, field trip planning, and staff CPR and first aid certifications.
August 2007-June 2008: College Street Children's Center, Middlebury, VT, Co-teacher Toddler Room. My co-teacher and I saw to the planning and implementation of curriculum for children ages 2-3. We were involved in assessment and parent communication as well.
August 2006-June 2007: Shoreham Preschool, Shoreham, VT, Director and Lead Teacher. I was responsible for planning, implementing and assessing curriculum for children ages 3-5. I was also responsible for billing families, paying staff and bills for the preschool, and communicating with families. I also oversaw the functioning of the board of directors.
January 2001-June 2006: College Street Children's Center, Middlebury, VT, Teacher. During this time I was resposible for working with various co-teachers to plan, implement and assess curriculum for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years. I participated in board meetings as the staff chair. I communicated with families on a daily basis.
