Inclusion and belonging are at the core of my practice. With universal design in mind, I strive for the following three strategies: 1.I try to ensure that busy adults have meaningful and relevant learning opportunities, presented in multiple ways (auditory, written, visual, hands on, etc.) so that they feel capable to immediately apply new knowledge. 2. I strive for active and reflective, as well as small and large group opportunities for learning, so that adult learners can engage and express themselves in different ways, as well as tap into their own experiences. 3. I try to create welcoming spaces where all learners feel respected, supported and celebrated for who they are. This might look like supporting people to share their own experiences, ensuring that materials represent diversity, or considering my own biases when planning for learning opportunities. |
