How Adults Learn
Leadership
Having been an educator of children, teens, and adults for over 30 years I recognize the importance of varying my teaching strategies to fit the needs and learning style of the audience.
1. Content needs to be relevant and relatable to the audience.
2. A variety of strategies should be utilized to meet learning styles of audience and to maintain their interest level (lecture, small group discussion, whole group discussion, cooperative groups, PowerPoint.)
3. The use of story telling- i.e. real world examples can be effective when illustrating a point.
